Saying goodbye never gets easier.. but thats why we say "see You Later"

The hardest part about the exchange experience is saying Goodbye.

All our host families and students are getting ready to say "See You Later", but they all know that it is never truly goodbye! The memories always outweigh the goodbyes.

We are seeking volunteer host families for 2023

Please let us know of any families you think have the willingness and resources to help one of our exchange students. Exchange students come from one of these countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Paraguay, South Korea, Spain, and Vietnam.

Sharp Family from Arkansas

Today was a sad day. We had to say see you later (Not goodbye!!) to Fred our forever German son. I cried like a baby. Many of you would wonder why would I do this if it breaks my heart to send them home. For the tears shed temporarily I received a bonus child, many times of laughter and being silly, shared our life and holidays, and so many great memories that makes the tears worth it over and over again. I can’t wait to visit him and his family next summer in Germany.

Horne Family from Virginia

Hosting an exchange student is more then just having a guest for 9 or 10 months. These kids become part of the family. Today, our Italian daughter, Giulia is returning to her biological family. She will always have place here with our family. As will her biological family.
When people ask me how many kids we have I always say I have 2 daughters, but I also have 1 German, 1 Spanish, and 1 Italian daughter.

Strickland Family from North Carolina

Although we are excited for his family (I know they have missed him terribly) today was a very sad day for us as we sent Julius on his journey back to Germany. We had never even thought about hosting an exchange student when the opportunity came and we are so happy we took a leap of faith and went through the extremely quick process to be a host family for Julius. There is not a doubt that it was Gods plan for him to forever be apart of our family. We did so many fun things and made so many great memories. We have had so many people tell us how lucky he is to have us as his host family but truthfully we were the lucky ones that got such a great host son and brother. I guess we better start saving for a trip to Germany 😉Please pray for safe travels for him and also for Braxton as he already misses his brother and best friend. We love you JuJu and remember it’s not good bye … it’s see you later!!
