Why settle for just traveling to a country when you can live like a native? ETC Outbound Programs offer you an opportunity to live a life that few people get a chance to experience. Think of it as a VIP pass to the most fascinating aspects of another country and people.
Studying abroad isn’t just a way to get to know another culture. It’s a way to get to know yourself. You will undoubtedly face some difficult challenges, but the rewards of self-discovery will more than compensate for the hard times. Upon your return you’ll have the satisfaction in knowing that you succeeded in using your abilities to have one of the best experiences of your life. You were able to form life-long friendships while growing independent and self-confident.
Studying abroad will be an experience like none you have ever had.
ETC Outbound Programs are focused on the academic and personal development of students willing to experience life abroad. ETC is not a travel agency or tourist organization. We are looking for students that are serious about understanding another culture, developing proficiency in a foreign language, and willing to share their culture with others. That’s why we’re asking students to have a(n):
3.0 GPA or higher in their studies
Demonstrated maturity level to travel and live abroad
Interest in the country and intercultural experiences
Willingness and flexibility to adapt to a different culture
Foreign language requirements depend on the country
In most outbound programs students will be placed with a volunteer host family that will help guide and provide a loving household. Families are carefully screened and oriented to ensure that students are placed in a supportive environment that is conducive to learning and adapting to a new culture. Additionally, Local Coordinators carefully monitor students’ progress both academically and with their new families. Coordinators also act as a support person, working one-on-one with students to make sure the transition into their new surroundings is as smooth as possible. ETC works together with their foreign partners to ensure that students have a safe, memorable, and educational experience and communicates regularly with the American parents to keep them abreast of their child’s progress.
